Reading Your Writing--

Giving Your Writing the Reading it Deserves
It's a shame that having worked so hard to write good material, many writers don't let their audiences enjoy it when they read it aloud. Reading one's writing aloud is an art, and can be not only an important sales tool, but also enjoyable. In this workshop volunteers will read aloud excerpts from their workthat they might choose to read at a bookstore, conference panel, etc., and Gillian Bagwell will coach them to become more comfortable in front of an audience and give their writing the performance it deserves. Gillian is not only an author but also a classically trained actress with many years of experience acting in, producing, and directing theatre. She founded the Pasadena Shakespeare Company and ran it for nine years, producing thirty-seven critically acclaimed productions, and directing nine of them. She has worked with thousands of actors in auditions, rehearsals, and workshops. |
